Course Description

Real Estate Financial Modeling Training is November 8-9 from 9am to 4pm and includes:

  • Instructor lecture, interactive question and answer with students during the lecture.

*Certain courses include hands-on Excel skills and financial modeling exercises.

Day One Morning

RE Analysis Excel Toolkit | Lecture (50%) and Exercises (50%)

In this 4-hour session, you will learn:

  • The top 25+ Excel functions, tools and techniques most commonly used in real estate analysis.

*Topics and accompanying techniques are taught with their own example and topic-specific exercises.

Day One Afternoon and Day Two Morning

Development Modeling For Multiple Property Types | Lecture (30%) and Exercises (70%)

In this 8-hour session, using an apartment property as the working example, you will learn:

  • The technical skills for the pro-forma (projection) modeling for the ground-up development of income-producing and unit-sales based properties.
  • Modeling cash flows of at least one property type of your choosing other than apartments.

Day Two Afternoon

JV Equity Partnership and Waterfall Modeling | Lecture (50%) and Exercises (50%)

In this 4-hour session, you will learn:

  • How to model equity joint venture partnerships for individual property transactions (developments and acquisitions)
  • “Dollars in” (capital contributions) and “dollars out” (partitioned levered cash flows) to all equity players.
